Re: Post your painted spark plug covers
IPD started selling some anodized aluminium bolts. I think they're about 6 times the price as the Volvo ones, but they do add a bit of sparkle and won't rust.

Vjaneczko -
Thanks for the tip on the IPD bolts for securing the spark plug covers.
Here is the link from IPD should anyone want to see them,
http://www.ipdusa.com/products/9389/120 ... kit-silver
They come in silver or blue - $58 for 8. Pricey but nice.
Anyone have a more economical solution?
Bob

Cool idea! I'll have to try that when it's warmer.Rondo wrote:Used vaseline on the raised lettering to make it easier to remove the red paint.

Finished mine this afternoonHey frost what tape did you use to mask the cover?
I replace my upper engine mount s60 R and since i had it in the garage for a few days i decided to paint it. I want to paint the rest of the engine covers and hopefully tape off the lettering but i cant seem to get tape to stick to the plastic, its really porous...
tried painters tape, electrical tape and even box tape.

Did this a few weeks ago. Just need to hand paint the letters silver and I'll be all done:

Found this on e-bay. It seems he has made a few for sale. Not to expensive and goes with the other blue things.
