Hello everyone. I figured this was the best location on the forum to say "hi" immediately after joining. I have browsed MVS many times. It's an awesome resource. Time for me to step out from lurking in the shadows to participate. My 1st Volvo came to our stable in the fall of last year - a 1995 960 Sedan, specifically for my 17 year-old daughter to drive. Great for that purpose, and a neat automobile overall.
I'm a life long car-guy and really don't shun any brands per se, despite having an "I'd Rather Eat Sh#% Than Drive a Mopar" bumper sticker in high school (when those guys started putting Cummins diesels in trucks, I crossed to the former "dark side"). I have been extremely pleased to try something different from time to time. Including this Volvo, and a BMW about a year ago. I must admit I still have a bit of "there is no replacement for displacement" attitude, having been a Big Block Chevy guy. Turns out there is a replacement ... turbocharging, supercharging and various technological marvels. However, that little red guy on my shoulder continues to mention that if you add all those advancements to 8-plus liters, you're at the top of the game! With that attitude,I'll probably be building a V-8 Volvo before long :}
Enough of the vague ramblings, just leading to the point that Volvo has some pretty cool engineering, often ahead of it's time, and in particular pressurized induction. Very cool stuff that I am looking forward to learning more about.
Greetings!

Welcome aboard Rich,
You sound like you will fit right in here. We are pretty much all a bunch of "Car Guys" that just happen to have Volvos.

Welcome sir. You've come to the right place.
If you like working on cars, that Volvo will (probably) keep you busy.
