parking brake adjustment
Just changed e-brake pads on 2006 V70R. I need to adjust them. Any tricks to this?

Make sure cables aren't seized. They should pull equally.

I have an issue... seems like my left rear ebrake cable is binding not quite seized, after i did my rear shoes, so the left rear would not engage but the right would. The old shoes were delaminated and just about turned into dust. So i took a look around one more time, pulled off the expander and tried tugging on the cable and i noticed the cable would only move about 1/16th inch. So i squirted some wd40 and kept pushing and pulling and i got it to move a bit more freely. now what happens is when i get to work and leave the car there all day then go to leave, the left rear ebrake will get stuck in open or engaged if i try to go in reverse so i have to pull forward to break it loose. So has any one been able to lube the brake cable. Im thinking all the dust and crap from the torn up/delaminated shoes got into the cable jacket by the expander.Make sure cables aren't seized. They should pull equally.

Under the central console at the rear there is a hook mechanism on a pivot. It interfaces the cables with the central lever. When the tension is raised it pulled equally on cables. Otherwise something is wrong (a cable partially seized, unhooked or binding. You have to raise the rear of the console to access. If nothing is wrong with the hooked end you will have to replace the cable for a permanent fix.
I found this as a guide for you on the Web.
