Idle/Power Problems? Troubleshoot Here

My V70 FWD was dropping in RPMs, it would stutter and settle back to 950 when coming to a stop.

Stealership said clean throttle body, so I did.

Problem fixed.

So with any issues with idle or throttle it's best to get a $6 can of throttle cleaner FIRST and if that doesn't help you THEN suspect other things.

The only trouble I had with mine was after a jump start pack (school bus type) which took out one of my coils on my 1999. Ignition wise, the Electronic throttle body system is pretty solid IMHO

My 98 S70 T5 sputters whenever I press the brake, and someone suggested that it could be my injectors. Would injectors cause this issue?

@tatsnturbos are you moving when you press the break?

I did a lot of over thinking it and tried replacing the MAF....Didn't fix the problem and I didn't need to do it.
As i said above, before you go crazy replacing parts like I did take off the throttle body and clean it thuroly. I ended up using an old tooth brush and cotton swabs to clean it.

The throttle body needs to be cleaned every 50,000 anyway. If you don't know the last time it was cleaned do it for peace of mind.

tatsnturbos you may have a vacuum leak in your brake booster line. Do you ever have rough idle when sitting in gear with your foot on the brake?

Sorry, I'm very new to this, where is the throttle body...

Should've mentioned my car is an automatic, sorry. Yes, when in drive and brake is depressed, it rumbles pretty hard. When it's in park, it rumbles, but not as rough as when in drive with my foot on the brake. Also, its extremly slow to accelerate.

Also forgot to mention he unplugged my MAF, he mumbles alot and I dont really know why he did this, but he said to keep it unplugged until we diagnose the problem.

Sounds like a brake booster vacuum leak to me.

The search function on this site and the repair database button are your friends.

Also, does anyone have a diagram of the vacuum lines to the brake booster? I found a vacuum line diagram on here but it didnt include the brake booster.

I don't have a diagram, but it runs from under the TB then under the Airfilter box, I believe under the steering column and then up to the brake booster. This is from memory so I might be a bit off. I think it is about 1/2" OD line.

You may want to start a new thread for your issues. It will get more looks and probably more responses.
