my 850 is '96. when staring the car with A/C on the cooling fan runs the a/c is cold and the compressor is working. when I turn off the car and restart sometimes the fan will not come on so the compessor clutch will not pull in therefore NO COLD a/c. anyone have some advice. hot here in texas right now.

Your problem sounds like classic case of AC compressor clutch gap being too large.

It can be fixed in 4 hours by compressor shim adjustment or in 10 minutes with shims on the clutch plate
