Help reading codes 1995 850

Hi everyone, was wondering if anyone has the exact process to go about reading CHECK ENGINE LIGHT codes. I have found steps for service light but not check engine. Its for a 1995 850 which has both OBD1 and OBDII I believe. Theres the box in the hood but also the connector under the ash tray. I'd like to do the under the hood method but I just want the EXACT number of times to press the button and such. Also, if anyone can give the link to the manual with all the codes for the 850, that would be awesome! Thanks
