2002 S60 AWD 2.4T 286Km's
All- I really need your help / advice.
Out of the blue, I have numerious strange electrical issues occurring.
They are
- Lights and display on the radio is out. Radio functions fine
- outside temp display reads "--" but occasionally shows correct temp
- driver site door lock doesn't unlock with the remote after the car has been left for a while. Unlocking the door with the key restores lock control from the remote, that is until the car is off for a while again
- occasionally the driver and passanger pwoer windows stop working. Clicking the door lock button one fixes this issue.
- radio occasionally goes silent for about 1-2 seconds and then returns to normal
I've tried disconnecting the battery and (- and then +) waited 20 mins and reconnected (+ and then -) with key turned to Accessory II. No change!
I've checked every fuse in the car.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?
Is there another way to reset the ECU? I've read about removing fuse #6 and #23?
Does the ECU control all of these systems?
If I purchased a VIDA diagnostic tool, would that help?
Your help is greatly appreciated
Regards, Kevin

Temperature, door locks and windows issue all are related to dying door control modules.
Does you car have mirrors with memory option?

As for radio I'm not sure. That can be radio fault.
With memory mirrors the control modules usually die a lot earlier than without memory.
The only way out is to replace modules since repairing need to replace processors inside.
You can buy used modules. Choosing try to ask from the car as much close to yours one as possible.
I mean model, year etc. The more matches you have the less probability you need to reprogram them for your car.

modules are right under the buttons.
You need to remove door cover to get to them.\
Module names are DDM and PDM (Driver and Passenger Door Module)

I had a similar experience and it ended up being that MICE had eaten wires in the overhead wiring harness. Good times.
