But I want to write it off running , without leaks. At least of the spraying variety.. drops I can can deal with.

Well, I keep thinking about this leak and searching, I did not think that the oil supply line would be under pressure, I swear I read something to that effect somewhere. But I found a video that makes me feel like I may have a cracked line.. Whether it is the supply or return, I'll find it. but judging from this video, there is plenty of pressure behind the oil getting there.

Great video! That's the most oil I've ever seen spraying out of a turbo.
1997 855 GLT (Light Pressure Turbo) still going strong. Previous: 1986 240 GL rusted out in '06, 1985 Saab 900T rusted out in '95, 1975 Saab 99 rusted out in '95, 1973 Saab 99 rusted out in '94

Sorry I didn't respond to your question earlier. I think most all turbos are pressure fed oil, not by gravity.if they were gravity fed you certainly wouldn't need those expensive connectors.

Turbo Oil return rubber/plastic seal on the oil pipe into the block was the culprit. I have a video I'll throw up later it needs edited just too long.
Can't believe it could throw so much oil. It dropped three quarts out on my initial test drive after getting everything put together.
Off to the dealer tomorrow to pick up the seal and button this up!

I cracked my thermo housing also, trying to break stuck bolts loose with an impact driver. I broke something all right! In the future I'll stick to PB blaster, heat, and time, and if necessary grind or cut the bolt head off.
