2000 V70 XC ETM problem, Xemodex replacement

Post by daedalus »

So...I recently replaced the ETM with one from Xemodex. It had all of the symptoms...no power while pressing on the gas (sporadically), ETM light on (again, sporadically). Of course, the 'no power' would occur at the most inopportune time...like merging on the highway....whatever, it's in now. But...probably two times since I've replaced the thing, the light has come on again and the no power thing has happened once. Is it possible I got a bad module? Has anyone here ever received a bum unit from Xemodex? Or, could it be something more? Next problem...the fuel gauge has all of a sudden gone wonky. The tank is full yet the gauge does not indicate it. The research I've done suggests that it could be the fuel sending unit. Is there a test to be done to determine precisely what it could be?
It's a good thing I still really love this car, or I would sell it now, but man, all of these issues lately are really pissing me off!
Any help and insight is appreciated.
