BTW, please weigh in on your thoughts on a fair price for this car.

I'm not really a Volvo enthusiast and I paid more than blue book (a local Volvo dealer owner looked it over and thought it was probably worth the price I paid). But I'm not sure what price I should set as my reserve (or really, for what price I should say is my rock bottom. I won't go below what I paid for it + taxes)... But I don't know what to be willing to wait for either?? Your feedback appreciated!

We generally reserve this forum just for classifieds but a quick peek at NADA (the only meaningful guide) shows appropriate pricing as

Average 1900 - any work needed to be deducted.
Good 2900 - any work needed to be deducted

Clean retail is 3750 - but if you are not in the business I strongly doubt the car is in this condition.

Any accidents/issues will lower value 20-30% roughly speaking

Again - please close this discussion on this pricing topic. If the seller disagrees, please PM me and I will delete this when you post your asking price.

EDIT: **Just saw 'CLASSIFIEDS' comment. I guess i need to put a price on here as a selling price?? ok, i can do that if you need. If it sells here i would have to pull it from ebay i presume?? is this possible?? will i still have to pay ebay?

ok, nada/wholesale value. And yes, i could see it wholesaling for the upper 2k lower 3k range, as a friend of mine owns a dealer and frequents auctions disclosed this with me. I have two people in the business i generally go to for their opinion (both in the business, one owns a dealership the other is in volvo retail).

Blue book value shows nearly 5k private party ($4,700 or so private party, excellent and it is). The local volvo dealer shared they would list it retail for upper 5k, lower 6k. i will not disclose my purchase price, but it was higher than kbb private party in excellent condition. I had about $150 in transport fees and between sales tax and title etc. i'm looking at another $300 or so. i'm not looking to make much but i bought it to profit. I had a bulb replaced, freon added and taken care of two of the issues. i'll bring it in to the dealer for the airbag light next.

I don't mind you answering my question honestly. (unless it is against the forum policy to discuss price). I set the reserve at my break even point, with the hopes it goes significantly higher. my primary objective is to establish a good name and begin to make money on the side using ebay moving forward. this is my first listing.

Thanks!

You're taking a risk selling it on ebay, not to mention the fees they charge. I've sold well over a thousand items on ebay and I'd never take the chance selling a vehicle on there.

Figure out the price you want for it, post it here and on CL.

Since its in ebay I'll lock this thread up until auction end

No one did anything bad, but we try to avoid discussing pricing in this forum per rules..it's a put up your car and price place only.

Please call poster or use PM to discuss sale
