V70SE 2000 missing rear view mirror

how do i 'unscrew' the rear view mirror post from the roof of the car without removing the entire 'ceiling'? this wagon has a sun roof and interior lights between the front windshield and sun roof.

Remove the lenses from the overhead lights and there are a couple of screws that hold the upper light bezel to the top of the car. Remove those screws and the light bezel will drop down to expose the mirror mount.

The wires to the light switches are always hot, even with the key off, so take appropriate precautions. Knowing that the wires are hot and paying attention is usually precaution enough.
