Post by djomlas »

i added a few things to it :)
xs grille (middle blacked out)
blacked out pillars
blacked out rear emblems
plastidipped gunmetal wheels and volvo badged on 1/4 panels
oh yeah, wheels are off of an s80 :)
sunroof deflector
smoked tail light sections
retrofitted cluster and info button

next on the list is tint and possssssibly black roof :)
thinking about lowering it slightly too but i always haul a lot of stuff w the thing so not sure if its a good idea....

here are the pics, its a 98 with 111K. still not 100% convinced i wanna keep gunmetal wheels, but its nice for a change....
let me know what you think, not bad for a $1000 car and some TLC and few parts here and there :)

Do like the look, not so sure about the wheels, but they be yours.
What's your thoughts on a Euro rack. I think they give the Volvo a little less city look. Then again, just thoughts. I am looking to replace mine and looking for a silver one or the dark green. Didn't have a choice on the color of the one I have now.

thanks, yeah still not 100% on the wheels, but its plastidip, so can be peeled off easily.

as for the roof rack, i doubt id be getting one, i do have a yakima for my other cars, and noticed a good amount of mpg loss with it on, i drive A LOT and all the $ i can save on gas is helpful, it would be useless since anything that i can put on the roof fits inside with seats down :)

im thinking about selling mine sometimes soon but its a great car other than AC not wrking, door actuator, and a bit leaky power steering, but all minor stuff.

The wheels look a little awkward and too big for the car, to be honest.

Rest of it looks nice though - very clean. I like the blue Volvo badge on a 98 - nice touch.

Just the way they look to me. If they were spoked 17", they wouldn't look quite as huge on the V70. The S80's a giant battle tank of a car, so they look a little less huge on those.

It's your car - if you like the look, by all means, keep it that way.

Pretty V70. Love the XC egg crate grille. I bought one for my 850... then realized OEM egg crates are smaller than 850 grilles. Ooops.
