1999 s70 cruise control and lock in gear feature issues

Beginning a week ago, my cruise control started shutting off on its own at random and my car begaan to slip out of the lock in gear feature on the highway. Anyone had an issue like this? I believe they may be related. Perhaps a bad stop light switch?

First, check the atf level and color. The car coming out of torque converter lockout, which turns off the CC by the way, can be caused by high temperature ATF. I am surprised that the message center didn't say anything...

Thanks for the reply! Level and color good. I swapped trannys 10k ago. I actually have an auxillary transmission fluid intercooler installed in line with the stock one as well as a filter from IPD in the same line. If problem persists, I may remove these aftermarket parts in case they are causing a flow issue

You are correct - the stop light switch is making intermittent contact and doing this!

It's just above the brake pedal - take it out and clean the contacts and adjust the plastic part of the switch as necessary to make full contact with the brake pedal when not pressed on.
