2000 C70 clicking from steering wheel?

After having the ABS module replaced at the local dealer, upon the drive home I noticed that the steering was stiff while turning left and it had a definite "click" that felt and sounded like it was right behind the air bag and steering wheel. I also noticed that the steering fluid was now black - so I drained and refilled it twice with near ATF. It smoothed out but the "click" is still there along with a stiff or hitch if you would during normal driving that feels like the power steering stopped or that the steering wheel hit a "pinch point". Dealer says it may be a "steering wheel bearing" that has gone bad behind the steering wheel and air bad. Any ideas? If it is this bearing, has anyone replaced it or have a write up on how to replace it? I can find a few really good replace steering wheel write ups here, but cant locate anything about a steering wheel bearing replacement. Thanks!!
