2001 S80 Total loss of electric power

I just replaced the ac blower motor and ac and car ran fine. My girlfriend drove the car to work without any problems. When she got off she unlocked the car with her key fob as usual and when she tried to start the car it lost all electrical power and cannot get to the battery in the trunk. Any help appreciated

Connect the new battery in the engine compartment as if do jump starting and try to unlock the trunk.

There is a emergency access lock on the trunk lid, it is above the licence plate next to the trunk "handle" there should be a plastic guard over the lock.
