Hello, I have 96 850. The inevitable finally happened, those plastic pieces that hold up and move the sunroof finally broke. I currently have it torn apart and am looking for a whole new assembly. If I could find just those parts that broke, that would work too, but I figured a whole new assembly would be easier. I live in Northwest PA and the few junkyards here do not have Volvo's. Does anyone know where I can purchase the assembly or where I could find the parts I need? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Zack

Your best result would be to leave the beauty moldings off.
They are problematic, and never seem to go back on as original.

Here's what I got: The first picture is the passenger side track that pulls/pushes the sunroof. It has the spot where you hook in the rails that the glass connects to.
And this second one is the drivers side, which does not have that spot, and is no where to be found.
I plan on leaving off the beauty trim, as Ben850 said, they were just hanging there.
Any suggestions on where I can get the things I need?

I'm sure Southern Vo-Vo (Link at the top of the page) can help you out. Other options might be Erie-VoVo or Tom's Foreign Auto Parts. If you try to deal with Erie call them on the phone, they typically aren't real good about internet inquiries. Tom's seems to deal more with big stuff like engines and transmissions and then just crush the rest of the car but they run a bunch of Volvo's through their place.

I found this on Ebay, would it be the correct fit? It says for a 70 series and an 850. I'm not sure if those parts are interchangeable though.

I ordered an entire assembly from SoutherVoVo. It was $150 plus shipping. A little more than I wanted, but it works and it's in. Very simple procedure, the headliner is the biggest PITA on this project. Thank you for your help everyone.
What constituted the entire assembly? Just the rails or the entire pan as well? I have one broken rail / attachment to the sunroof (left) similar to yours similar to your top picture. So I assume you had to drop the headliner and the entire sunroof pan to replace rails? I'll have to look for more help here, including instructions on the headliner. I have a '94 850 Turbo Wagon.
Hi TWMn,
Sorry for the highly late response. I have not logged on in a while. Did you get this matter resolved?
The entire assembly I purchased was the pan and rails. I'm not sure if the place I picked it up from sold the rails separately, but it seemed much easier to do the whole pan than I assume the rails separately would be.
Removing the headliner was relatively simple, taking all the handles and the rear view mirror out. The more difficult part was removing it from the vehicle without bending it too much. I had to lay the seats down and pull it out of the trunk. Once remove, I picked up some glue and Napa and reglued the liner to it since the leaking made it sag.
