Vida won't let me type username?

Post by benrk »

Hi,

So after lots of trouble, buying a new budget laptop with 4GB ram & upgrading from Win8 that was on it to Win7, I finally got Vida to install & open the login screen.

My trouble now is that the username field accepts neither keystrokes nor copy/paste, so I can't login  I can type in the address field of the browser & when I open a new tab I can also type in the login field of e.g. MVS, it's a Win7 Pro 64bit, same issue with both ie8 & ie9.

Has anyone had a similar issue or some remote idea what it could be?

Thx, Ben

It sounds like it could be either a Java issue or the security settings in IE.
Check to make sure "Local Intranet" is set to either "Medium Low (Default)" or "Low"
I can only use IE8, the VIDA version I have is really finicky. I had a rough time getting mine to work.

You might also clear your Java cache as well as IE cache, just for grins.

Thx for the input, tried all to no avail.

The fix was quite simple: after all the fuzz I must have forgotten to run the crack-patch after the last installation, after installing the patch I could login but then got kicked out again for there being another user with the same name, apparently the program w/o the patch had been communicating with Volvo's servers, so after another reinstall inc patch everything works now!

Thx!

Hi,

Having the same exact issue with VIDA. I cannot type into the Username Login? It has a cursor blinking but won't accept any keystrokes nor pastes?

I successfully installed VIDA All in One on a new laptop. It's a 64 bit with 12GB RAM, Windows 10 and IE11. I have rebooted several times, applied the patch to C:\ several times, changed the security setting on IE11 to LOW but still cannot type into the username?

Thank you,

John

After several hours I finally got VIDA enabled. I had to edit the SQL Server Configuration Manager. Also had to change the date on the patch to the year 2099.

Hello,

can you please tell me what exactly did you do? I also have WIN10 and IE11, and VIDA wont let me type the password. I already change the date on the patch, but I dont understand what to do with SQL.

Thank you

Hi,

I uninstalled all the SW (SQL server, VIDA 2014D, JAVA...) and reinstalled it again. It took several tries and I got lucky with the last one.

Good Luck
