Hey guys,
So I've poked around the interwebs a little bit, but I have yet to find a posting and subsequent solution to what I am experiencing. When I first start my car I will get a hard, almost violent shake of the engine, the revs will shoot up to about 2200 and then slowly settles down into the proper 800ish range. I have noticed that there is probably a correlation between the temp outside and the degree of shake on the start: colder=more violent. So guys, what do you say? Thanks much.
Regards,
J

Thanks for the link BKM. This looks like a tricky diagnosis...the eventual conclusion he came to was a faulty MAF. I will look into this tomorrow. Also in my poking arounds, various people mentioned faulty fuel injectors. Could this be the culprit? in the meantime any more input would be greatly appreciated.

In the case of my GLT, the leaky injector went with a frequent CEL for a miss on the cylinder with the bad injector and a really strong smell of unburnt gas when starting the car. What finally pointed the way was when I had the intake manifold off and found gasoline covering the valves on that cylinder.
Not sure if this matches your problem or not. Good luck with the diagnosis.

There was a bit to read ( I didn't reread it) but I thought it was a Turbo hose or hose of some sort not fully attached?
