1999 S70 T5 Dash rattle

I might try the foam as a temporary, fix, but what should I look out for, are there any components that if covered in foam could be damaged? Is there a chance the dash could fully separate?

I was very close to trying that foam spray stuff a few times and just didn't know where to try it. I was thinking about spraying some of it into the mounting bolt holes, letting it sit a day or so, then trying to get the bolts back in.

Some of those mounting nuts will fall off if the bolts are removed.

If it fails you can get another dash from a junk yard. I don't think Volvo sells them any more.

The whole job (dash removal, mount fabrication, replacement) takes about half a days work.

Seeing that picture almost gave me chills. LOL

My guess is that it takes about 4 to 6 hours. My mechanic does it in 2-1/2 hours. I'm a slow worker so I'm more like 5 to 6. I also usually take care of surprises. So if something breaks in the process I fix it as well.

Maybe 3-1/2 to 4 hours for an experienced Volvo mechanic at warp speed

With a car this old (15y/160K) and being used by my kids for their high-school trips, I just don't have the appetite or time (6-8h) to do this job.

I am hoping to do some ghetto fix LOL.

@JRL, A Volvo mechanic told me today that he could do a timing belt in 25 minutes, short the water pump. I'm like, daaaaammmmmm!!! I'll never be able to do that.
