2001 V70 2.4T Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Cleaning...

I have a question on the air intake part that connects to the bottom left (facing the rear of the car) of the air cleaner box (pictured in the 8th photo). This part is missing in my 2001 xc70 (can't figure out how that happened). I've noticed a bit of a howling sound when I accelerate modestly from 10 - 20mph. my questions:

1. do you think this missing part is related to the sound?
2. how urgent is it to replace the part?
3. what is this part called (the poster refers to it as the air scoop)?

Where did you purchase the MAF cleaning spray?

Any auto-parts store, pepboy, autozone even walmart.
As a lazy old fart, I clean my MAF from the other side (the screen side) without taking out the whole airbox. Just want make sure NOTHING touches the sensor.

Not sure it's is properly cleaned. The MAF must be cleaned from the air box side, since that's where the air comes from and covers that side of the MAF wire with dirt.
