Expecting to install new radio.

2006 xc70. I ordered a single din replacement radio from Crutchfield. I needed (wanted) a unit that has Bluetooth and Sirius...no more 'add-ons' and 'plug ins'. It should come next week. Anything that I should know, any snags that you anticipate I might run into? I read the console removal instructions...got it. I'll connect the new wiring harness to the radio...should be ready to go. I understand that I will lose the parking assist feature and (unless I spend some more cash), the steering wheel controls. Crutchfield will supply the dash kit...I expect to hate it, so I will see if a single din can be ordered from Volvo (anyone know anything about this?).
I really don't like the blank area to the left of the radio...where some have a cup holder, but I have a vertical cubby. It's a nice place for a gauge or switches. Any ideas.

Most important, remove both battery terminals.

Otherwise, good chance to trigger an 'Airbag urgent service' message which requires a trip to the dealer to reset. There are a few connections where the radio is that will typically cause this issue.

climate control will do this with or without the key in. simply opening a door is enough to turn it on.

key in posII remove positive terminal. do your work and leave the key in pos II when you re connect the battery.
