my head is done in - rattle from boot

Post by taffbouncer »

55 plate V70
I have got a really annoying rattle from the cargo area - it is more prevalent at low speeds - more like a vibration rattle - I have put half a ton of felt patches EVERYWHERE! I have never seen a vehicle with SO MANY plastic to plastic rubbing areas. I'm used to German vehicles which NEVER rattle! I suspected the cargo cover but I removed it and still it rattled - I have folded down the rear seats - no difference. When driving it's hard to pin-point it but now I think it's either in the rear passenger door or in the rear headlining over the door. Being as there is an air-bag in there I'm a bit cautious about ripping things out but I'm afraid my hearing is going to suffer if I turn up the radio anymore. I like the car - really but rattles and me don't mix - anyone out there had this poxy rattle and sorted it before they sold it or set fire to the car?

common area for rattle is the tailgate(hatch door).

Usually broken clips leads to rattling in that area. Remove the cover and take a look in there.
