2008 Volvo C70 Convertible Top manual raise?

Post by hubguy24 »

Hi, I recently had someone install a module to my 2008 Volvo C70, which would allow the top to be raise/lowered using the factory key fob; it worked well for a few days, and now my top is lowered (compacted into the trunk), and it won't raise. I try using the button inside the vehicle to raise the top, but it doesn't work. There is no response at all, so my theory is that the module has become lose from the connector attached to the car. I'm unable to gain access to the module because the top is folded up into the trunk, and I'm unable to get to the module. My question is, Is there a way to raise the top while it's compacted in the trunk manually? I have pressed the "yellow" button located in the trunk, but it doesn't do anything. Any assistance/advice is greatly appreciated.

AJ

It is a 3 or man job to avoid breakage. latches have to be unlocked manually and when the problem is fixed the top has to be put back down and relatched or module restarted using VIDA.

I installed this similar device and currently have it in my car. Go to MODCARS.com and see the demo. Anyway see if you have another key fob to use. It usually takes three quick pulses of lock/unlock meaning unlock (3 times) lowers the top and lock (3 times) raises the top. There is a built in usb port to reprogram the device. I would assume whoever installed this has the software ??
