2004 xc90 awd SRS Airbag Service....I'm in Africa!

Post by Grawburg »

I have my 2004 xc90 with 115,000 miles with me here in west Africa. The srs service airbag urgent warning and red triangle came on. There's not a Volvo dealer within 3000 miles of here. What the heck do I do to fix it or clear the code?

You need to get Vida software running on a laptop then plug it in to the car using a DiCE interface to scan the car to see what is wrong with it, rectify the fault then clear the codes which will reset the light. Kite often it can be something as simple as a plug disconnected under one of the front seats, alas simply plugging it back it won't clear the light.
The DiCE units can be purchased on e-bay, they are clones of the real thing but they do work, they are also supplied with the Vida software (or should be), just pay attention to what OS the laptop needs to be running and what version of internet explorer is required as the software can be a little "picky" if using XP - I run it using Windows 7 Ultimate with no issues - Mike

This seller seems to have a pretty good deal. It comes with everything needed, including the Vida software.
