Who Sells Caliper Pistons for 850/70 and 240

I need rebuilt calipers for my 850 and purchased a spare set at a reasonable salvage yard to rebuild myself. Had them powder coated and I'm ready to put them together, but I cannot find anyplace in the US that sells Caliper Pistons. I did find a parts house in Germany that sells them, (Skandix) but for the cost with shipping I can purchase rebuilt calipers from the dealer. It's hard to believe noone wants to carry caliper pistons. What have others done when searching for pistons- have them machined?

I asked FCP if they were interested in a special order a couple of pistons twice and have not heard back- it has been a couple weeks. What have others done when it's time to replace a piston?

Does anyone want to join in on an order to Skandix?

Even without shipping the cost of pistons and seals and cleaning the caliper cylinder just doesn't make this path economical. What happened to the old pistons?

I remember some UK ebay sellers selling just the piston. Search and see.

Cheapest is to go to local junk yard and get an old caliper for $16. Just make sure the protective boot is still intact (b/c once the protective boot is torn, the piston will corrode very quickly). Then get the piston and transfer it over.

PS: I notice you bought Scan Tech boot/seal. Your life rides on this piston seal, so I suggest that you return the Scan tech and buy the ATE boot/seal.

The old pistons have some rust on the sides-relatively deep pitting. I'll look for the ATE seals. Thanks for the tip!

Do you mean FTE seals or ATE? IPD and Euro sell the FTE, but I think your telling me to go with the OEM manufacturer.

ATE or FTE, same stuff, i.e., good stuff.

My point about piston is: get the old caliper from junkyard for the organ donation, i.e., transfer the piston from junk yard caliper to your newly painted caliper.

Rockauto has caliper pistons (at least for my model/year). $10-13.
