Well it won't connect to your 2013 model S90 because they didn't manufacture S90s to this year and secondly the S90 will not interface with a Vida-Dice system

If I were you I would return it to yourself!!

Anyone know if VIDA will see the DiCE unit when it's not plugged into the OBD2, but does have 12 power? The DiCE diagnostic program sees it, and all the checks work (except for the communication one, which seems to need the car) but VIDA doesn't see it.

You've nothing to communicate TO unless it's connected to a car so this sounds normal.

Have you pulled the Dice down from the drop-down tab?

I seem to recall that the DiCE unit requires the 12v from the ODBII port to power up, and the 5v from the USB port isn't enough.

I'm running the 2013A version in a Virtual Machine. The VM is a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate, no updates, IE9. I threw VIDA on it and it attaches DiCE just fine from the host OS.

Came out to 20GB total, but only 9GB compressed. I found it easier to do it that way than to keep an extra computer around (which I have) just for VIDA duties. Plus it's portable. One computer dies, and I can just copy the VM to another one.

I'm hoping to not use a VM, but will if I have to. I'll get back in the car today to work on it, but in the house, I have the DICE powered via the 12v port, and it talks to the DICE diagnostic utility just fine.

That's my issue, the pull-down is not appearing for me. It's just missing. Everything else seems to be in order.

I tried it in the car initially, and didn't show up. I brought it in the house and successfully got it to talk to the dice diagnostic (with two different firmwares - yes, I know people say don't upgrade the firmware, but it didn't seem to have an ill effect and certainly didn't brick the unit.)

VIDA still doesn't see the dice, but I'll check in the car again later today.

For reference, I'm using Win7 Ultimate, and had no problems getting the drivers to load and connect, and like I said, the dice diagnostic app talks to the dice unit correctly. Maybe that's not good enough for VIDA. Might start calling it DIVA. :-/

Could I ask what DICE you bought, assuming you have made the purchase recently? And slightly off-topic question, if you bought the complete version of the VIDAS, does that include all of the information available (separately) in the electrical DVD? Thank.

I got mine from Alibaba. Lemme go find the seller name for you. It's a bootleg copy of VIDA, 2012A, I just looked.
