2003 Volvo XC70 Crank Pulley Nut

I am trying to replace the timing belt on my Volvo but I haven't been able to remove the nut on the crank pulley even with an impact gun. Anybody have any suggestions?

I've replaced the belt two different ways. Once removing the crank pulley, and once just removing the plastic cover that runs around the lower half of the space between the pulley and the engine. I prefer the second method. As I recall it's held in place with a 10mm hex bolt at each end of it.

Did it twice with 8amp Craftsman impact wrench (pretty weak IMO) - no problems.

I fought an over-tightened nut for almost a month of evenings...
I tried:
1) 5' cheater bar on a 1/2"drive - this would not budge for me. Broke 2 extensions.
2) laying the breaker bar against the front frame cross member inside the engine compartment and hitting the starter. Nope.
3) In the end, I got out the sawzall, and very slowly cut a groove, diagonally across one of the flats of the nut. As soon as I say thread on the crankshaft peakign out of the groove I was cutting I sprayed WD-40 into the groove I'd cut, and then hit it with the electric impact wrench. It spun right off.
Order an extra nut (IPD) before you start, obviously.
