1995 850GLT sedan- Car Cover and Drill?

First- I was looking for a car cover that I can use for my car. I typically get leaves, bird poo, and a small amount of tree sap on the car (that easily washes off). I never had need of a car cover, till now. I'm either thinking of something that is washable? Or something disposable? Any thoughts appreciated.

2. I was going to use my Ryobi cordless drill/driver to take off a license plate holder. The blue plastic body of the drill is INCREDIBLY sticky. I haven't used it since 2006. It's been stored in its case, in a box in my house all this time. So nothing landed on it. Anyone have any ideas what causes plastic to become sticky on its own and how to get rid of it? Any drill makers where this doesn't happen??

It probably has a slight silicone type coating on it and with the heat where you stored it, melted. should be able to clean with paint thinner.

There was no melting due to heat. The unit was stored at room temperature in my bedroom; a dry environment. Regardless, I will try thinner. I've never had a tool or plastic housing do this before.

Does Home Depot give a lifetime warranty? if yes, try and exchange it.

I'm not asking about returns, why do you assume I bought at Home Depot....I can't return it. I KNOW about returning items nvm

I'm wondering what caused it, or if anyone else has experienced this.

No cover is good, especially for daily use. The coverts rub, scratch the paint, etc. Same with front end bra's. I use to cover a new car that I had for about 6 months and finally gave up.

A real good coat of wax will go a long way. Wax it monthly with some decent spray stuff and you'll be fine. My daughter got one of my cars egged and it pretty much rinsed off because the car had some of the new type spray wax on it.

As for your tool, cheap material will cause the body to deteriorate.

No cover is good..really??? I agree on wax, but it doesn't keep the leaves and crap off my car. Frustrating as can be.

Evidently this plastic is deteriorating (a bunch of chemistry reasons), jeez I hope my DeWalt doesn't have this problem at some point. I used alcohol on the entire blue plastic. It's not sticky anymore, but I really don't know if the effect is temporary or not. Some guy online used acetone and said it worked for him and didn't return. So who knows...

Havent you noticed "the sticky effect" on Volvo radio faces, ECC's, and window switches, It is some no slip surface when its new, then it deteriorates and looks like your surfaces are covered in sticky dirt.
