850 TDI5 AWD wagon...

Post by futureboycolin »

best car they never made?

I think so. If I had one I would lift it 3" and slap some 30" tires on it and mud race the s#*t out of it.

Next best thing: v70R AWD. If I get my hands on one, you better believe it's getting lifted.

For reference refer to "Slammed to lifted Volvo 740" on TB.

No? Nobody?

Alright well if not TDI, then at least a HPT 850 with AWD. That would be one badass wagon.

It is funny you mention this. I recently saw the BadSwede lift kit and had a similar thought: the 2.5" would be an absolute must if I ever get an XC70 wagon. The IPD project car is pretty bada$$ too. Have you seen that? If you do it, please post pics and video! :-)

That Badswede kit is pretty neat.

If I end up doing this project I would be using xc90 struts with Cherokee springs, and in the rear I heard somewhere that Ford Ranger shocks would work with Cherokee springs. The problem I've heard people mention is at full lock the CV boot wants to tear, so some solution would have to be found. I think retrofitting an xc90 CV boot kit could possibly work.

Everyone says I'm crazy, but there's a few who get it. Like you ericbs1975.

If I could get my hands on a v70r AWD this would on, and I would document it every step of the way. I would probably also paint it flat black as a base with 70's jungle tiger stripe camo and limo tint all around.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think I love you! LOL :-) That would be awesome, I totally want to get into an AWD wagon.

It's weather like this (18 degrees, 6 inches of snow in Chicago) that makes me want 2 things for my 850:

1. A 2" lift
2. AWD

Sweet! High pressure turbo FTW.

Now you can lift it and have a kickass rally/mudwagon, that blows everyone else outta the snow! How much is it gonna cost you? What year is yours?

(Cute pit too! We have 3 at my house)

98 xc70, the last of the pre-ETM's. Putting in a 98 S70 T5 motor, turbo, ECU and injectors. Hope to gain 50 HP. I bought the motor for $300 had to pull it myself and quick before someone had beaten me to it.

Whoa that's a ridiculous deal! But that's a LPT I think, right?

That's neither here nor there, is your angle gear still going strong? How's the AWD?

Did you check out the "Slammed to Lifted 740 Wagon" thread on Turbobricks? That's a really good preview of how a lifted v70XC might look. Hint: totally bada**.
