2003 Volvo XC70 Low Compression after timing belt

I have a 2003 Volvo XC70 that I just replaced the rod bearings and the timing belt. Before this it had compression of 145-150 but after it is as low as 50. The timing belt is aligned between the crank and the cams. Anybody have any ideas?

I can't see the mark in the middle picture.

In order to help we need some info
What did you do to prep the VVT for alignments. Pass timing mark 90 degrees and then go back to relieve vvt ?

Did you manually turn the crank 2 rotations after installation , then move and extra 90 degrees and turn back to marks to check?
