1973 164 Heater control valve leak

I have a coolant leak directly behind the heater control valve. The service manual is vague about the connection between the valve and the core. The space is too tight to get a good look at what is going on. Is there a clamp? What is the fitting? My wife's getting a little tired of cold feet and that just isn't good.
