1997 850 T5 Low Compressions

Well,
that first go around where I didn't properly warm the engine with the testing I did do a few of the cylinders wet and the readings jumped dramatically. I am thinking of a replacement car like a Subaru Outback. The XC70 's looked interesting but its the difference of inheriting someone else's problems (a 6 yr old XC70 or just buying into a new Outback. I am favoring a clean slate.

If you are really thinking about dumping the car/engine, for sure get the compression tested by a shop first. Low compression across the board is so unusual with the history you describe, let someone with experience make the call with certainty. It won't cost very much.
