A few weeks ago I did all my heavy maintenance on My T-6. 106K miles on car. Timing belt, plugs, Serp Belt. cleaned injectors, etc. When I got it back together it ran great except for a fuel leak at the rail. After some detective work I found the fuel inlet to the rail was the culprit. Replace the seal and it got worse. To cut to the chase, I replaced the fuel link to the rail (not easy with the weird connector below the intake manifold). Eventually everything was dry and nt leaking.
Result is I cannot get a good start at all. VERY agged wth popping, serious reluctance to idle, have to rev it up the 2000+ RPMs to get it to run. The serious thing is what sounds like a bg hold in the intake somewhere. No CELs yet. Can't keep it running long enough I guess. The longest is nea 10 -15 seconds.
Checked all vacuum hoses and replaced a cracked hose to the intake. All others connected correctly. Checked all electrical wires and connectors. No issues there but cleaned all connectors anyway with Electrcl Contact cleaner. Cleaned the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner.
Still in the dark. Would appreciate any and all suggestions. Thanks!!

I thnk I have it all sorted out now. Process of deduction/elimination leaves it being the throttle body, electronic module. I have a used one coming. I am quite sure now it's the electronic module. WIll let you all know after the part gets here (and I get it reprogrammed).

Have you read up on ETM issues? Reason I ask is that they are not always plug and play. If you have the exact same part number you might be OK.

I'm still waiting. UPS says it should be here tomorrow (the ETM). After asking around I've been advised by several people who have experience with this device that the YELLOW label ETM is reprogrammable, while the white label s locked. I ordered a yellow label.

Have the "new" ETM from recycler in and all connections are done. Still getting a lot of horrile misfires. Sounds like injector misfires, or timing belt slipped a few cogs, or the head gasket blew. Since the "pop" noise is irregular/random I'm doubtful of the timing belt or head gasket. in the AM I'll pull the rail and ijectors and blow everything out. Then reinstall and see how it runs. Will go from there.

You might be sucking air somewhere. If you suspect a head gasket, just do a compression test and either confirm or refute. Personally, I can't stand any nagging unresolved doubt about that.
Your symptoms sound vaguely like the MAF. Have you tried disconnecting it to compare behaviors?
