1999 S80 T6 Mystery

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

1999 S80 T6 Mystery

Post by SimLyons »

I can't find where the "hose" in the pic. goes, or comes from for that matter. It's a hard plastic material with an ID of about 1/16". It originates.??. Haven't been able to fnd the other end yet. After I removed the fan, shroud and ETM it sort of gradually slipped into view as I was cleaning out the area before installing the replacement ETM.

I know it isn't something I saw when removing the above. If anyone has an idea where it goes, or comes from I'd sure appreciate any tips.

Sorry about the photo being sideways. I have wrestled with this on Windows 8.1 and am going crazy. Just look at it from the side. :?

Thanks! Sim

Grab the big plastic pipe that goes to the air cleaner then splits in two and turn it upside down. You'll see where it (and two others) go.
It's routed to the TCV (Turbo Control Valve) to regulate turbo pressure.

I have all three hoses for the connection to the intake piping. It's not one of those. This one in the photo is a rigid material and is significantly smaller than the others. It looks more like a cable covering except there's no cable in it. As I said, the ID is only about 1/16th inch. Very small!

see YELLOW stripes - there are two others that connect to the TCV, blue stripe and red stripe. The TCV should have dots of paint to identify - the valve itself is located on the on the air cleaner housing.
