All,
I've got a 98 XC and I am trying to find the fuel pump relay. I need to examine it, and maybe the board it is attached to, to hopefully solve this problem: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/chat/p ... php?t=9287.
I've read here that the 98 XC is similar to the mid 90's 850. So, I've downloaded the 850 service manual but I still can't figure it out.
In my car, I see a fuse box with relays and fuses located on the right side (facing the engine) about half way back from the front. This has about 4 relays and 10 fuses. Then, there is 2nd box all the way in the back of the engine that has a ton (about 30) fuses.
Are the relays I'm looking for in this same box as the 30+ fuses? There seemed to be 2 tork screws there and I'm wondering if I need to take those out and pop off the cover?

The fuel pump relay is under the fuse center cover in the cowl area. You do need to remove the torx screws to get to the fuel pump relay but I believe there are 4 screws rather than 2 screws.
