1995 850 tachometer constant zero

Post by mschmelzer91 »

Hey all, since probably the beginning of fall, my tachometer has not been working. First it would eventually work after I drove a little bit then it started to just work whenever it felt like it and now its been completely dead for a few months. I'm thinking it has something to do with humidity because we had a very rainy and hot end of the summer/beginning of fall here in Chicago. There are no warning lights on the dash, the check engine used to come on every couple hundred miles but that was from an O2 sensor. Any thoughts, experiences, advice? I don't like not being able to read the RPMs especially when starting in the cold.

Does the RPM's work with an OBD-2 tool?

Does the cruise control work?

Cruise control works. Have not had the chance to test with OBD-2. Will soon though.
