98 Volvo s 70. URO quality?

Post by loub »

I know URO has a reputation for poor quality, does that extend to body parts like turn signal assemblies?

Run like hell.

That's my default response for URO anything.

But I wouldn't count on it being a good part. It might last a few years, might not. A used OEM turn signal would be a better bet in my opinion.

I would be scared of used parts too. The tabs that hold it are long overdue to crack on the original stuff.

TYC turn signal lamps are OK. I have used those on cars for a while (5 + years in texas where plastic goes away sooner) and they are still not falling apart.

TYC is sold by many on Ebay and also by 1-800-radiators folks.

I use some URO parts, but I balance cost and ease of replacing them. If the part is critical (e.g. brakes), expensive or difficult to replace I don't use URO. I put in a URO lower engine mount that saved me $50 that has lasted 2 years so far, and it's easy to replace, so no worries. But that's just my philosophy. My 14 year old car just isn't goig to get billet-quality parts.
