1997 850R rough idle after head rebuild

I checked the vacuum lines before reassembling the intake manifold. They all look good.

Hmm. It actually sounds like it's running ok, aside from the top end being clicky from not having built up pressure. I think your MAF is fine - it's not bogging and choking like it would if that or a major air hose were loose.

Is the throttle position sensor plugged in? If not there, how bout the air lines to the idle control valve - any holes?

The throttle sensor is plugged. I unplugged it and plugged it again and again. Checked the vacuum tree. No holes.

are you positive you didnt mix up two or more of the plug wires on the distributor?

No, when I put the new rotor cap, I matched each cable to their specific number as it was previously installed.

I was just messing with the intake bolts. A couple of them were not tight enough. So now the engine stays running longer but stills runs like its choking. Like it needs more air. I also hear a weird knocking noise where the idler is.

It just sounds to me like the hydraulic lifters haven't built up pressure yet.

It kinda sounds like it's firing at the wrong time...it runs fine on a couple cylinders, then sounds like it slows down for a second.

Are these all right?

Even if the wires are at the corresponding numbers, a plug may not seat over the pin firmly. I would use dialectic lube and re-seat.

What is the make of plugs, rotor, wires, and cap?

I got the codes P0310 and P305. Misfire on cyl 5 and 10??? Wtf... I don't know what the hell went wrong.
