My 94 850 turbo has remote start and it's nice to have on the cold winter days. Although I find myself using it mostly for the lock and unlock functionality more so than remote starting.

I installed the system on my car and it was pretty straightforward. Determining which wires to cut/splice into took most of the time. Once your wiring diagram is built installing it into your car is pretty easy. It took me roughly a Saturday afternoon to install. I found it's better to take your time with the install and disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. I double and triple check the wire connections before the first start up. But all in all it was a good weekend project to do; by Saturday evening I was up and running again (minus initial research time as I did that during the week). The neat thing about the remote start systems is the parking light confirmation flashes can be hooked up as well.

Is this doable also on a C70 2001 me7?

This can come really handy....as i have to wait for my car atleast 1min in winter before i drive ( otherwise it wont shift into third gear unless i rev it over 3krpm - automatic )

Below is a link to a site that has excellent information for installing remote start/car stereos in your Volvo if you're considering to take on the remote start project. The site has specific Volvo vehicle application and the associated wiring guides that can be used to install remote start systems or custom stereo setups.
