Volvo beginners page/info.

Post by ThinAir »

Hey guys,

While in the midst of a common (ETM/MAF) problem with my Volvo I thought it might be a good idea for us to develop a page or set of information for those new to the world of Volvo. This could include common problems, how to avoid said problems links to pages they will eventually need, etc. What do you think? I wish I knew about "Lawn Mower Syndrome" before now. I know that Matt's site has a page for links to major issues and this is huge. But what about a straight up "Rookie Read Me"?

Regards,

J

Yes, great idea, TA.
Just shoot any ideas here.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

The owner's manual should now be www.volvotechinfo.com

For some reason Volvo's manuals seem to be here

Nice one,

Also the ever popular VIN decoder. I figure if everybody pitches in a little info on their model it could become a great resource. I know this could also be a real time suck for you Matt, so do whatever the heck you feel like doing!

Nice! I have always thought this is the most friendly of the Volvo sites. Thanks Matt for extending the Gift Basket of Knowledge to those yet to join our ranks! And in addition to friendly-Knowledgeable. Have you seen the light bulb write up? Holy cow...

^+1 on the friendly and knowledgeable comment. Seems as if this site is more courteous and serious than most of any of the auto forums. Thanks to everyone for that. This site has gotten me out of a few jams with my S40 because I am a 99% DIY person. Anyway, I like the idea of this page. I hope it gets plenty of attention. I might learn something new. Many thanks for professionalism.
