1998 v70xc windows

Post by skisinair »

hi, my passenger front window sometimes will not roll up. This just started happening at a hundred twenty eight thousand miles. When it wont roll up, neither the driver side master switch nor the passenger side switch will help it roll up. If I turn the car off, and then started back up, it sometimes rolls up. I am wondering what the problem might be.

Chances are it is the master switch failing. When the master switch craps out it also takes away power from the local switch. The master switch is a very common problem on the S/V series cars.

I have been able to buy time - as in weeks, not months, by spraying the switches with contact cleaner using the nozzle tube aimed at the joints between the switches and the faceplate but on the original switches it gets the plastic on the buttons sticky.

If you do replace it, get an original switch. The Doorman and ScanTech replacements are horrible. My dealer actually beats the Switchdoctor.com price if I order it through their website.
