I got a V70R front bumper complete with fog lights and air intake grills for £80 late last year, it was cheaper to go an pick it up in my V70, a round trip of 320 miles so it cost about £140 with the fuel I burnt (UK fuel is costly).
Shop around for a better price on the transport to save some cash then take in to consideration the time needed to prep it and re-spray it, if DIY then it is only time and material, if you are going to pay a paint shop to match it to the car get some quotes and factor that in as well, otherwise it could become a costly nice to have addition to the car.
The final addition to the front bumper is to fit a splitter lip to the lower portion, this looks great but should be done prior to spraying, again not cheap as the chap that makes them is in the UK so factoring shipping costs adds to the bill - Mike

Ben,
I have a front bumper cover and valence pulled from an 850 R. I guess I'm not going to use them. Valence is red. If you're R'ing out your '93, you might as well go for the rear air spoiler, too, also red. You could have all 3 pieces for $200.00 plus shipping. I haven't looked at the front cover in a while but as I recall it's pretty clean.

I'm on my way out for a few hours, so don't have time to pull up the photos, but I'll try to post them later on this evening or tomorrow.

BTW: I'm in Minneapolis, just a hop skip and a jump from Michigan—well, okay, a long jump.

It is for the wagon so I wouldn't need the rear spoiler. That would be more than fair if I did.

The one I am looking at is also red. I'll be painting it just as I had refurbished the other two.

If you like, PM me with another number and we can go from there.

Thanks Jim.

For the rear spoiler try and get one with the high level brake light built in to it, they were made by Volvo and supplied as an optional extra for a couple of years, only ever seen two phase one V70s with it fitted in the UK and one of them is mine:

The splitter attached to the normal V70 bumper prior to painting:

Once painted (with the old number plate on the car)

The "R" front bumper will be going on the car along with the splitter once it has warmed up enough to consider spraying it, to wet and cold at the moment, the air intakes in the lower portion will also be getting hydro transfer printed in black/ silver carbon fibre - Mike

I like that rear wing spoiler. I may have been able to use that type on my '96, but I already found an original.
Being a '96, an x70R type front would do me no good. I do like that look though.

Ben,
Pictures attached, valence only, as I can't find a picture of the cover.
I didn't mention these pieces are from a '94 R if that makes a difference. I think I harvested the cover b/c it was really clean. I don't recall it looking different from my '96 855's.
I'm sure it doesn't look like the V70 in the above photo.
What do you think?

Jim,
After reviewing your photos, I realized you have a standard 850 bumper cover with the foglight templates prepared.
This is the "R" Bumper cover/Spoiler that I am looking for, also the actual one he has set aside for me.

I have the"628" ECU from an R to install along with some more efficient turbo tubing, and an N/A manifold with 3" 960 throttle plate.
A few things that will differentiate my Turbo Wagon from an R will be the suede interior and other dash and kick panel trim pieces. I think they had stiffer suspension maybe. I am not bothering with an R exhaust manifold unless I go to a 16T turbo.

Ben,
Well, good that we had a some photos for decision making. The car was an R, so is my front valence not a stock R valence? Anybody?

The difference is the spoiler that is incorporated into the R valence. I know many people crack up their R spoiler and just replace them with the standard 850 type. It is cheaper and easier to find.

Here are some shots of the difference.

And this would be the bumper cover on everything other than an R model. There are templates etched on the backside to cut foglight holes.
