1996 850 T5 burning smell from ABS

I've been running for years with ABS and TRACS light on, it was a bad module. Yesterday I replaced it with a repaired one, I cleared the codes and it works fine, I tested it, but since then there is some kind of burning smell coming from the ABS unit location while driving, and even when I stop at a light( it seems to me like burning plastic, but I'm not sure). I checked the fuses and the wiring to the control module and pump motor, but they didn't even feel warm and I can't see any melting wires.The control module is just warm, but I think it's normal, because it's relatively close to the engine.
Today the car ran normally( except the smell),then I parked it for about 30 minutes and when I started the car the engine started easily but then immediately stopped. I tried it two times, then checked the fuses and the Maf sensor connector but I didn't see any problems and tried again, and the car started fine.

My question is, can it be the dirt on the pump motor that causes the smell, and it was just a coincidence that the immobilizer stopped the engine? Or is it something else? Any ideas?

When those burn up it's a very distinctive smell. A combination of electrical, chemical and plastic smells all rolled into one.

If it were burning up, the abs light would have come on. It isn't the pump motor, it's just a small sealed motor.

Thank you, I thought if there were a short circuit or a fault in the electrical system, it would have turn the light on. Now I have no idea what it could be
