98 S70 Rear ABS Sensor E-bay Special Review

Post by ianmccr »

OK so when I purchased my S70 one of the issues was the TRACS light was lit. After some research I checked the resistance to all four wheel sensors to see if I had a kaput sensor.
Well it turns out the right rear was reading no resistance so after pulling the sensor out it was the wrong sensor spliced into the original harness.
After trolling the junkyards and not finding a suitable donor I looked into purchasing a new unit.
I looked around and stumbled across a complete sensor harness and both sensors on e-Bay for $16.49 shipped! I figured for the $20 I couldn't go wrong so I did the Buy It Now and waited.

So here's what my $20 bought:

No box-I guess to save shipping costs!

Looks OK so far.

Resistance checks out as well.

As far as fitment is concerned-no issues on the drivers side but the passenger side needed some caressing to fit. I has a bit if corrosion from the wrong sensor being in there so it isn't fair to blame the new sensor. Plug ends fit perfectly and they were plenty long enough to reach.
Been driving for a few months with absolutely no issues.
So if you are in need of ABS sensors don't be put off by the MIC e-Bay specials.

Thanks for sharing, very interesting!

Q: this includes both R and L rear sensors, is that correct?

PS: For other readers, I think PEX is probably the OEM, and one can get PEX (Volvo 9162612) for about $80 on ebay.

That is insanely cheap, especially with shipping included.

Don't know if I'll ever use it, but looks like a great deal.
