'98 Volvo S70 GLT starts, revs high, then tries to stall.

Grrrrr, my daughter's car, 1,600 miles away is stalling right after she starts the car unless she feathers the gas pedal. She said it revs high then tries to stall.

She had a spare fuel pump relay and swapped that to no avail. What should she try next? She said she has no codes so I think it is gas related...

Could be a hose come off the IAC valve.

Lol, that's funny, I think I put the lower hose on with a zip tie last time I seen the car about a year ago.

Obviously check the air hoses are all in one piece and firmly attached, but one very easy thing to try is disconnecting the plug from the MAF - if it's faulty it doesn't necessarily throw a fault code and the car should run OK-ish without it connected.

So I post a video for her to do the job:
1. Pull injector connectors guard off rail.
2. Bleed pressure off rail if running within 2 hours.
3. Pull the 2 bolts from the rail. (Oh, wait... only 1 bolt. Where is the other bolt? Is this missing bolt why the injector is loose? Call dad, sub bolt, push in rail, install bolt, all is good).

Problem solved. Wow

So the whole problem was that one bolt was missing from the fuel rail?

Yep. Amazing. The fuel pressure was pushing the injectors out of the rail on the loose end.

So there was indeed a huge vacuum leak, due to the injector being out. That's a good one to know about, thanks for posting up the resolution.

Am I the only one wondering how is that a vacuum leak and not a positive pressure leak?
