2000 V70R dashboard warning lights are dim

Hi,

Just got my car back from my local dealer after spending close to $5000 on replacing engine, tranny, and angle gear seals, broken engine mount and turbo solenoid. I know the mechanic spent a lot of time on it and he is particular in his work. However, I have noticed since its return, that when I turn the ignition switch to II only a few of the warning lights in the dash glow at what I would consider normal brightness. The majority only light up with a very faint light, not enough to see what they are. From memory, the ones that light up bright are: battery, SRS, engine check and possibly 2 more.

I had the ignition switch electrical portion replaced recently as it was faulty.

Any thoughts why some lights are affected and some not, and then where to check. I will be returning it to the dealer, but like to go in with some ideas on what is wrong.

Check your ground wires. There are a lot of them, so it's worth getting a wiring diagram to find them all

Thanks abscate! I was thinking this might be the issue, but I'll return it to the dealer and let them fix it. I think after the amount I've paid them they should fix it as they broke it!

Also found an oil leak near front crank seal (just been replaced) so they can fix both at the same time.
