Re: What has failed on your 1992-2000 FWD or AWD Volvo?
Unstickying this and tucking it inside Links to MAJOR forum topics - 850, S70, V70, C70 & V70-XC to keep the top of the topic list from growing too tall. That will remain at the top of the forum.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
Also -> Amazon link. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!
1998 V70, no dash lights on
1997 850 T5 [gone] w/ MSD ignition coil, Hallman manual boost controller, injectors, R bumper, OMP strut brace
2004 V70 R [gone]

B4 servo cover failed on my 2000 V70 non turbo (P80) causing 2nd-3rd gear flaring
Replacing it solved most of the shift problems though solenoids are sticking causing occasional bumping when downshifting.

Guys, when I approached the forum on my ABS failure, the responses (ABS module, sensors, damaged tooth cam) were all tested and found to be ok, or not to be responsible. The problem however, remained. Only last week did the computer identify a hydraulic pump failure as a possible new cause. Tested the pump, found it ok. Last remaining option: the printed circuit board controlling its action. Lo and behold, two failed solder connections have nagged me for a few years. As a possible reason for the failure an overheated hydraulic pump was mooted. All problems now gone, speedo and odo, as well as cruise control all working fine again. Thought I would let you guys know.
95 850 - Climate Control sensor sometimes goes nuts, ABS ring on passenger side CV Axle came loose causing all sorts of ABS issues, Leaking radiator and oil cooler lines.
98 V70 - Rear/side defrosters don't work, steering rack showing signs of going bad, driver seat seams coming undone from alcantara/leather. Oh, and the whole it doesn't run when in closed loop mode.

Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)
