1999 V70 Front bumper repair and cracked chin spoiler

Post by buffmont »

Hello, The front bumper and lower spoiler on my V70 is cracked. I would like to remove the whole thing to properly fix the crack and Bondo scrapes and sand and paint.

Anybody else do this ?

1) How does the bumper cover and lower spoiler come off ?

2) I plan to use SEM bumper paint or any other forum recommendations ?

3) I plan to use a two part plastic epoxy and resin cloth to fix the crack, any other forum recommendations ?

Thanks

There is no "lower spoiler", all one piece
You need to drill out 3 rivets in each side of the front wheel well
Then there are two long bolts in the front that hold the bumper on.

Once you have it loose, do not forget to remove the fog light plugs before going further, (assuming you have fog lights).
You will need to buy a cheap rivet gun and 6 Volvo plastic rivets when putting it back on

This should be pretty close to your S70. Courtesy of Robert (rspi).
