2006 S60R Corner lamp doesn't always light when it should

2006 S60R Corner lamp doesn't always light when it should
When I lock my car, the front drivers turn indicator lamp will light up but when I'm approaching the car and hit the yellow button on my key fob, it won't light up, even though the passenger side does. I'm not sure where to start but I'd like to get this working. Anyone have any ideas? Both actions use the same bulb, so I'm more than a little confused.
