1998 V70 AWD Fuel System Question

Post by deepsouth »

Hey all--
I'm having a difficult time figuring out where exactly the key components of my fuel system are. It's a 1998 V70 AWD and I can't seem to find the pressure regulator. I have located the following. The damper is on the fuel rail (see last photo). There's also a plastic part next to the fuel filter (near the right rear axle--second photo) that seems to be part of the evap system (see photo).

But if I follow the lines from the fuel rail down behind the engine they end up at a junction with something that looks like a pressure regulator, but I'm not sure (first photo). All of the fuel regulators I see for sale look nothing like this part. Any help out there? Thanks!
Eric

The one by the fuel filter, photo number 2, is the rollover valve.

I would wait for Jblackburn to chime in...i remember that he talked about FPR which is located in subframe area...around front driver's wheel on s/v70 cars.

I know for sure that on Motronic 4.4 cars,FPR is located in the fuel filter area.As far as i can see in those pictures,in your case...it isn't there.
That thing in fuel filter area is roll over valve.

Look from fuel filter towards the front of the car for FPR.

I followed the line and couldn't find anything except that junction in photo number 1. Any ideas what that is?

Could be a FPR.There are 2 positions for it on s,v70.

Wait for Lee or Jblackburn for confirmation.

It certainly look like Fpr.

Every FPR have feed, return fuel line & vacuum line on it.

If you can read the marks from it...Bosch or Pierburg and those numbers,i can tell you if it is Fpr or not.

FCP lists this part as my fuel pressure regulator but I can't find where this is located.

It's in pic #1. It slides into the housing. I will try to find a diagram.

Haha, timing is everything!

Looks like it is called a fuel pipe, part number 9445057, and you're going to want to source it from the junkyard or someone with an XC they are parting out:
